I am in the process of rolling out SEP12.1.1. (done 250 out of 1200 clients)
Out of the blue, a Dr. client wants to have it installed it on his secondary drive on a Vista Business OS.
Can you tell me whether this is a Best Practice or anything else that may cause issues?
Yes, I can predict that more will make comments about Vista, especially when Symantec Forum doesn't even list it in the drop-down list for this discussion creation.

I'm trying to use the SymHelp, Load Point Analysis feature, but I always have the following error message:
I've already set the proxy but it logs the proxy could see that he does not send authentication information already created permissions in my proxy for many addresses that the barring was due to lack of authentication, when the proxy is not barring any addresses he barred SymHelp when I was running, but the problem persists.
Can anyone give me any tips of what to do?

We have 6 site with single update provide in each site, we does not have enough bandwidth in one of the site to to update on group update provider while business hours. So I want to schedule the live update on group update provider after business hours. All the clients on that site is updating from group update provider only.

I had upgraded the symantec endpoint to new version and deployed on all pc simultenusly. Now some of the users starts complaining that they are not able work with same pace as they were doing earlier. The new version has came up with Insight Scanning Technology, please suggest the difference between Advance vs Basic protection during :Remote Push" deployment in System Endpoint Management Console.

I recently started getting messages from the windows action reporting that SEP anti-virus and Anti-Spyware is turned off when they both are ON. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with the latest version (12.12MP1). It still is being flagged as being off. I even uninstalled SEP and installed AVG 2013 free and it worked fine with action center reporting correctly. As sooon as I uninstalled AVG and reinstalled SEP the action center messages reported that my anti-virus is OFF. What can I do about this???

i have some questions regarding application control policy. i have imported SEPM harden Application and Device control policy . after opening i saw a bunch of new and intrusting polices. i have a basic question. how does these policies execute.? i mean does they execute on periority? if yes then wat happen if two conditions come simultanously.

i can see that folder if i am browsing through Address bar,but cant see them when going to there folder directly.
i have submited files to virus total.they have suggested me some patches that removed my porn folder,but still i am not able to see those folder

I have both Syamnetc DLP and AV endpoint protection, we are using Lotus Notes as client for Domino. I have a big delay when sending any mail that contains attachment.
I have configured VM for testing, and I have done the below trials in sending mail with PDF file with size of 4 MB and 124 pages:
1- VM without both DLP & AV: managed to send the mail in 5 seconds.
2- VM with AV only: managed to send it in 6 seconds.
3- VM with DLP only: managed to send in 20 seconds.
4- VM with both DLP and AV: sending the same mail takes more than 2 minutes
Seems that a confusion is existing between both the DLP and AV, although I have putted the DLP files in the exclude list of the AV (DLP folder, kvoop.exe, edp.exe and wdp.exe).
Appreciate if you can help in this Issue.

We use LUA for Download SEP 11 virus definitions.
In some LUA, programmed purge never work fine and some LUA have double in "Used By Updates".
LUA are all V 2.3.2.99.
Existe a way to force in command line Update purge for :
"Purge updates in Manage Updates folder" & "Purge updates in Distribution Centers" ?

IN SEP 11.X
1. To open updated system C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared & sharing VirusDefs in LAN.
2.After sharing go to not updated system & access sharing folder.
3. After access sharing folder ( VirusDefs) show definition file (i.e 20130527.032).
4. Open definition file(i.e 20130527.032) & copy all content file.
5. After copying through sharing folde then paste in not updated system incoming folder location (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared\VirusDefs\incoming).
6. After copy , paste wait some time & check new definition file create in older definition system.
