Clients are on other VLAN
Is it necessary to open network port TCP 2638 between server and clients ? or it's just a communication ports between several management servers ?

Regarding the following URL post below, I just want to understand the product upgrade, every time there is a new release with Windows 10, like the new version 1709 and beyond.
We currently have 12.1.6 MP5 so it is compatible but do we need to uninstall the product and reinstall with the new Windows release each time there is a new Windows 10 Anniversary Update release and must do the Endpoint manager?
Also, SEP 14.x says that it is fully supported but with that version is the same behavior as SEP12.x, uninstall and reinstall the new client with each time there is a new Windows 10 Anniversary release?
How-long does Symantec take to release a new client compatible with a new Windows 10 Anniversary Update on Microsoft official release?

We add a new SEPM server with Windows Server 2016 to replace our SEPM server with Windows Server 2008 R2.
I want to know, what is the step by step to decommission the old SEPM server.
Also, we have a replication with another site.

Recently i configured full scan during non working hours. The scan is showing the results but in the logs it not showing the scanning end time.
Now when i can manually i get this error "Another scan is in progress. Your scan will be queued if you want to continue with the scan."

Does anyone have information what new columns might be expected ( I don't have SEPM 14 available ) in the different type of logs exported from the SEPM ?
I've found this one for the Computer Status logs - https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH123.... We got some over there mentioned as SEP14 only. No idea how this looks like for the risk logs, Application logs, etc.
The reason why I ask is because of a SIEM that we use and what new we can expect to be fed back from SEPM.

Just upgraded to 14.0.1 (and using cloud portal 14.1) - I notice now if I right-click on a client - the dlete option is greyed-out. How do I remove an offline client? It is not showing up in the clihd portal - but I would like to remove it from SEPM - am I missing something??

I have recently cloned a machine using sysprep with windows 10 OS, customized application and SEP 14 running. I followed the exact process as mention in article "How to prepare a Endpoint Protection client for cloning".
After that I deployed that customized image on one of our test machine - It worked normally and was having all the customized application installed including SEP 14.
Just wanted to know, how can check/verify whether the SEP is correct installed or not. What are the things I should look for so that I can identfy if it is creating duplicate IDs or not.

SEPM 14 system requirements indicate Windows Server 2016 is the highest OS supported so figured I'd go with this version for my new SEPM server. I installed an unmanaged SEP 14 to protect the server itself and haven't even loaded the SEPM yet where Windows Update is giving me grief. It's trying to download KB4035631 and has been stuck this way for a couple hours now.
I'm wondering whether it's even worth running Windows 2016 with all this goofyness with WU and perhaps the OS in general. Is anyone successfully running SEPM 14 on Server 2016 and not having any odd OS issues? 2012 R2 has been a reliable OS for us in general so now leaning towards going this route instead but thought I'd reach out to the community to see what others think.

I need to support many languages regarding SEP 14 ckient (in fact all languages available for SEP 14 client) and regarding client deployment I need to have in my deployement all diffferent packages and match them to the right language on the computer.
Is there any MUI solution that would allow to have a unique package to install that would aither support all languages (best solution) or install in the current language.
I'm really suprised in 2017 to still have packages per languages on such a software.

Some time ago when I was accessing the SEPM console remotelly via IE (Web console access) and getting the error "Content was blocked because it was not signed by a valid security certificate" on Home, Monitors and Reports tab and there was an option to show the blocked content (see attached screenshot).
However now when I try to access it again via IE, it still shows content blocked but now I don't see the option to show the blocked content. I need to give some users access to the Web console but I don't want to install the Self-signed certificate as explained in this article https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH123686.html
Is there any other workaround so we can access the Web console and to be able to see the Home, Monitors and Reports content?

I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager trila version (12.1) in Windows 10 operating system, trying scan a file using command prompt and want to find out the error level.
When I run the below command I have getting the error that DoScanRes.dll colud not found (Attached: DoScanRes.dll_missing.JPG)

My customer wants, "outside office", with their professional Laptop, his users can connect on internet only with their profressional mobile (by sharing internet connexion of mobile).
He wants to block "sharing internet connexion with personal mobile" or "Wifi Hotspot in Hotel", or "personal Home InternetBox"
Currently, the restriction is only done by the SSID.
Have you any ideas about this request ? Application and Device Control Policy ? Firewall policy ? ...

I'm having an issue with live updates from Symantec servers. Sonicwall TZ Gateway Ant-Virus is blocking downloads of Network and Host Exploit related updates. Virus/Spyware definitions are getting through without issues.
All updates can be downloaded without issues as soon as I disable Getaway Antivirus in Sonicwall router.
Any help?

In the last few days our SEP Manager is showing a bunch of our machines as having out of date IPS signatures, most of them were last updated on or around 9/22/17 (9/19-9/22 it looks like). After looking into it, it seems like all the machines affected are on build 2415. We have a group of machines that had a slightly older build (1904 i think) and they have all been getting updated IPS signatures as normal. We've been on version 14 for months now with no issues and all of these machines have successfully gotten all definition updates up until now. Antivirus and Download Protection are still updating normally. Any idea what is causing this ?
