Latest LUA 2.3.5.99 and older downloads 19 GB daily and distributes this to sites. Is this normal? Here is product list. Entries marked red was unchecked and download size dropped from 24.6 GB to 19.1 GB but is still very big. How to fix this?

Hi,
We have a in-house developed application. While running this application it is getting as SONAR.Heur.RGC!g194. Before yesterday, application was running fine.
It compiles some files and creates and exe. Every time a new name, location and hash value is created. it's the creation process that triggers the SEP alert.
Tried to add application exclusion but didn't worked as hash value get changed every time.
Any Suggestions?

I've two SEP 12.1.6 servers in two sites. One of them manage 200 PCs + servers, while the other manages 150 PCs+servers.
They are physical servers running under Windows Server 2012 R2 and installed with embedded databases.
Juse name them server A and server B.
I'm being asked how if server A is down for a prolonged period, how can the PCs and servers managed by server A being managed by server B?

We have a need to give users full admin priviledges within SEP(M), however there have been times when these admins make mistakes within policies. For the most part, there are no changes required on our policies except for rare instances. Is there a way to lock / freeze these policies and only changes can be made by proper approval (AD integrated)?

For SEP version 12.1.x.x where is the option to enable/disable data collection (error reporting)?
Is it possible to make a file exception based on signiture of the file withthin the exception policy?
I am moving back to SEP and am trying to do something that was relatively simple with other solutions I've used.
I do not want any management traffic over the WAN between our two physical sites. I have installed SEPM at our primary site and a replication SEPM at our secondary site.
What is not obvious is if the SEP clients at the remote site are connecting to the local SEPM for management and updates. I've installed SEP on one as a test at the remote site but it is not showing in the local SEPM installation, only on the remote. Or is this one-way replication only?
I'd really like to see the reporting be able to create the reports in PDF format. I have to distribute reports to serveral "C" level executives and they cannot open the .MHT reports on their smart phones.
I have to print the reports to PDF and send them that way to make them usable.

I've just stumbled across these things called Yara rules. The way I understand it, they are rules that allow us to scan files and then identify the type of malware or if infact they are malware and then suggest classification. I see that Symantec already uses them.
So are they for identifying zero day exploits that Symantec has not yet released signatures for? If so, where would I enter Yara rules i get from a security bulletin?
Or am I completely wrong about what they are?

I need to clear all SEPM logs, as i have some issues with logs accuracy, many machines shows out of date and once i login to the machine i find it updated. Moreover, i deleted a bad file on one machine and still shows on SEPM.

We will be using one SEPM server in our datacenter, and GUPs for 4 of our remote locations. One of our locations is over a 30 MB WAN link to Asia that has 1200 clients. I'm concerned as to how I will be able to update all these 1200 clients over this 30 MB WAN connection. What is the best way to do this?
Windows 2008 R2 server with 64GB RAM, running SEP 12.1.5. The server runs a weekly scheduled scan against 1TB of data. The scan usually takes two or more days to complete. During that time the client seems to continue updating its definitions, but I can only tell that by looking in the client management logs and the virusdefs folder. Some client functionality is lost, ie
1. The GUI does not display the date of its latest definitions, it shows the definitions present wheh the scan started
2. The client stops updating system and scan logs from when the scan starts
3. The client stops communicating its latest definitions date to the SEPM
Any suggestions as to why the scan is apparently breaking this functionality, ie is it a resources issue? I have tried smc -stop and -start but this makes no difference. The only way to restore the full functionality appears to be to restart the server.
Any suggestions as to the cause of the issue would be appreciated.
