Hi guys , Can you please tell me when the SEP clients Sends a query or submission requst to either a SEPM or Symantec whenever a file is executed to check its reputation or when any scan is run on the endpoints that requires a lookup to check the reputation then usually what is the approximate size of this request?

I just installed SVA - Security Virtual Appliance on VMware Vshield.
From Vshield Manager, I can see the info as following：
but there no any clients listed under Security Virtual Appliance Tab in the SEPM monitor
The vmware vcenter version is 6.0.0
The vshield manager version is 5.5.4 Build 3601672

I am planning to upgrade SEP MP3/MP1 versions to MP4. Last time I did it through SEPM but now I would like to do this upgrade through SCCM.
anyone can share or list down steps which is required for SEP Upgrade through SCCM.
If I push the SEP package through SCCM what it will do on the client ? (It will uninstall the current version or will do an inplace upgrade)
what if the package where group settings belongs to different group but we push one single package to all clients through sccm regardless which Group they belong to they will remain in the same group or after package push the will move to the same group setting for the package we exported.

The notifications are all confirmed, but every day the same.
I am using version 12.1.6608.6300 on that server.

1 SEPM server -- IP 192.168.1.x
5 GUP -- 1st set of network card IP 192.168.1.x (2 network cards)
2nd network card IP : 10.1.x.x , 10.2.x.x, 10.3.x.x, 10.4.x.x, 10.5.x.x
10 clients each in different subnet 10.1.x.x, 10.2.x.x, 10.3.x.x, 10.4.x.x, 10.5.x.x
my 5 GUP can contact with SEPM server and get update and see in client management list, but all my clients in different subnet unable to see in client management list in SEPM server, is that normal ?
I've configure all 5 GUP also able to ping and telnet , the reason I configure this way because all clients in different subnet can't contact SEPM server at all. So is my configure correct ?

we would like to modify the notification pop up message that it's shown when an app & device control rule is being applied. We have read some post staying that this is not possible, but they are a bit old, and are wondering if this feature have been enabled in the newest SEP version.

All the articles to upgrade/migrate to 12.1.6 MP4 are broken, where can I find a document that covers steps to upgrade/migrate to 12.1.6 MP4?
I have my SEP site up and running but I need to add another SEPM server for HA purposes. Does anyone have specific instructions that I can follow to set the extra SEPM up? The documentation is great on explaining the concepts but I need instructions on how to setup that extra SEPM. Is it like DCS where you run the installer and transfer some files over from the DCS manager and your'e good to go?

Download Insight is responsible for about 80% of my daily tickets. Some part of it seems to break pretty often on my 7,000 computers.
1) Does Download Insight require that Symantec IPS and IDS also be enabled on the end client?
2) If I have slow or no Internet access from the end client, does the Download Insight module 'timeout' or become 'disabled' somehow?
I'm about ready to turn the dang thing off since it is causing so many tickets

We have an issue with regards to virus detection. One of the employees received a virus attachment from email. However, Symantec didnt detect this and some viruses can be detected by symantec when we open such attachment.
Is there any way that symantec can detect the virus even if the user doesnt open the attachment or a file downloaded from the internet? Or symantec can only detect viruses if the user open such files? I have doubt in symantec because it cannot detect all the viruses so if the behavior of this AV can only detect opened files, there's a possibility that a virus will infect our network if a user open a virus and Symantec cant detect this.
Recently we upgraded our SEPM server from 12.1.6 MR1 to 12.1.6 MR4. All process compleated without any error.
Before upgrade the entire group clients i have selected a small group of client for test. But its not updated to latest version.

I've had this problem since the early 12.1 versions.
I am currently running Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.6 build 6860.6400 on W2K8 R2 SP1.
If we create a new .docx file that is about 27K and send it out on an email, it immediately triggers this error:

The attachment(s) "2016 New Donor Packet A .docx" and/or the message was Logged Only.
This was done due to the following Symantec Mail Security settings:

Rule: UFR - Malformed Files

The same thing happens with small PDF files we create and send out. It's annoying to the end user when they are constantly receiving these error messages only to find the email attachment was successfully delivered.
When I enable background scanning, my administrator mailbox gets deluged with hundreds of these errors for benign pdf and docx files.
What can I do to stop this?

I have a Nessus server that scans our network at night and I don't want attack alerts generated from it.
I added it to the Intrustion Prevention 'Excluded hosts'. But I still get alerts from it each day.
