12.1.4 IPS signatures not updating - unmanaged client

I need a solution

Hello all,

Environment - Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, SEP 12.1.4 unmanaged client

Issue:

We have a SEP 12.1.4 unmanaged client that the IPS defs are not updating on.   It seems to be a recent occurance (maybe started within the past few days) - the client has no issues and has been working perfectly well.

We had a similar occurance about 4 years ago and it turned out that some defs were pushed out that caused the issue. It only affected unmanaged clients.  

The client is downloading the defs directly from liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com.

We've looked in C:\Program Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Current Version\Data\Definitions in the IPSDefs folder and we do not see the current defs file(s).  (Don't know if we are looking in the right place.)

It appears to us that the IPS defs aren't being pulled from liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com.  The AV and PTP defs are downloading and installing.

The unmanaged client should be retrieving the IPS defs dated 10/14/16 r11 (20161015.011)

Any suggestions?
