I am not finding tech articles or forum posts on this topic so I thought I would ask for opinions/direction. We are using SEPM installed on one of our local servers.
What do we do for equipment that is off-site (out of domain or on networks not owned by us) more than on-site? Example, traveling users that you only see maybe once every 4-5 months. I know we can install SEP and let them live update with Symantec but I am wondering how we can monitor health of equipment (are they up-to-date, any attacks stopped, etc).
Is there a secure way to assign an external IP address to the managing server or maybe a group update server that the client can connect to periodically and relay stats?
Asking today because one of the remote users got attacked by a ransomware. Would love to have been alerted like I am for computers on network.
Suggestions/advice appreciated.
Thanks,
Douglas
