We are using Symantec EP 12.1 on PCs running Windows 7 and Windows XP.
The PCs at our main office are configured to get updates from the SEPM server in the main office.
The branch PCs are configured to get updates from Symantec.
During a review of Web Content Filtering reports my boss the IT Manager noticed some users
at both branch locations and the main office having almost or over a million hits
to liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com while some have only one. This I believe is over the course
of a month.
I could understand if the branch systems connected more but the top system had 1.7 million connections.
Location does not seem to affect numbers of hits.
Can someone please help me figure out where to start to find answers?
Specifically what are these connections and why 1.7 million for one user and one for another?
I would appreciate any insight.
