luall.exe problem

Hello

I one SEPM have problem because can't run luall.exe from schedule. When run manull all is OK.

In Log.LiveUpdate I see entry

HttpSendRequest (status 502): Request failed - Gateway or proxy encountered an error on the LiveUpdate server.

 

Could Give same advice

SEPM is in 12.1.ru2 LU in version 3.3

This option I do

lucatalog -cleanup and press Enter.

then  lucatalog -forcedupdate

SEPM configuration issue, i cannot change/enter email address what i want.

i checked the discussion and changed the regional setings(the non-unicode characters)to English (United States) or something else nothing was solved.

i can not enter email address of admin over five character of domain,

for example, i try to enter admin@kartsis.com.tr, i fail but if i try admin@kart.com.tr or kursat@kart.com.tr, i success but i need to enter the valid domain name of mine to get the emails.

i can not change these settings, i uninstalled reinstalled, about 5 different computers (virtual and physical),i installed with embeded database and with sql server both. i installed SQL server to change the the design of the coloumn that holds the email address'es of admin account or and email field , i could not find any field related.

i tried 12.1.2015.2015 and12.1.2100.2093 versions both.

So, i can not create a web link to my clients that lcated on other network to download the packages

A few of my users are getting the following error msg from Symantec:  (see attachment)

 

SID 21663 - MSRPC RRAS Buffer Overflow detected.

 

what does this mean?  how do I fix it?  how odoi prevent this msg from popping up again?

I do not need a solution (just sharing information)

While troubleshooting an issue with a damaged embedded database table, I noticed that nearly all of the 12 GB of memory was being used, according to Task Manager.  Had not noticed this before, so I was concerned when the database fix did not resolve this.

A boot would clear it up for hours (usage drops to two, three  or four GB mostly)  but typically by the next day memory was all used again.

 

Oddly, Task Mgr says all the RAM is used, but the processes displayed are obviously not using it (not adding up to anywhere near 11.5 GB). Hidden processes maybe?

 

SEP 12.1.1000 running on Win 2008r2.

Need CleanWipe Tool to Remove Symantec Endpoint Protection

I need a solution

I have tried opening a Tech Support Case, but the request form is not recognizing my product version as valid. The version I have installed is Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.5002.333. It is installed on my personal computer. I have gotten the attached blue screen and have been advised to uninstall SEP. So far I have been unable to uninstall using Windows Installer in Safe Mode. Please help me find where I can get CleanWipe.

Installing Third-Party Certificate for SEPM 12.1 web console

I need a solution

I am looking for help on enabling SSL with third party certificate from a trusted CA for the symantec web console.
I've followed the steps describe here : https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/ins...
It's kinda of working : the server respond well on the 443 ssl port, the certificate is the new trusted one. But on the 8443 port, the port that is used by the web console, it's the original auto signed symantec certificate that is still in use. The one that is refused by the web brower...

I'm not searching to know how to install the auto signed cerificate on the browser, i'm really searching to install a "true" cerificate on the server
Any help would be welcome :)

Tenemos algunos números de serie de licencias y al intentar activarlos aparece  el error "The serial number that was provided cannot be validate as it apperas to be unsupported source"

El  SEPM es 12.01.2015

¿Cuál puede ser el error?

All USB devices not appearing after installing SEP 12

I need a solution

Would you know why any USB device would be blocked after installing SEP 12 on a WIn7 notebook – even though device control is not used. When
SEP 12 is uninstalled a USB device is readable. Even when installing SEP 11 , USB devices can be read, but the moment the SEP is upgrade to SEP 12 is installed all USB devices do not appear? All policies are exactly the same for SEP 11 and SEP 12. There are no risk or SONAR logs and all virus definitions are up to date.

Anyone experience this?

i have SEPM 11.0.7 WITH SERVER 2003 AND CLIENT SEP 11.0.7 WITH XP SP3

Symantec Endpoint through the policy to put storage device can block USB mass storage BUT

BUT

it could not block USB External Mass storage devices to which i tried add device IDs and put into block but couldn't

I ATTACHED ACTUAL POLICY IN ZIP FORMAT KINDLY AND UPDATE me what missing BUT Ensure

But ensure that USB printing USB port must be open for scanning or printer etc USB STORAGE /FLASH/MASS STORAGE /USB EXT HDD MUST BE BLOCK

SEP ugrade failure

I need a solution

I tried to upgrade SEPM to 12.2 and the upgrade wizard didn't start. I run the upgrade bat and it also didn't launch. I then tried to repair SEPM hoping the upgrade wizard will eventually lanch and it didn't.

Now I dont' know the SQL database password and I cant continue with the repair. I did backup the databa before the upgrade. Reinstalling SQL is the last resort.

please help!

 

SEP 12.1.2015.2015: Will not install

I need a solution

OMG SEP 12.1.2 is starting to really bug me.  Every time I go to install this thing, I run into one problem or another.  Every time, in completely different customer enviornments. 

Often I am able to handle these issues but 12.1.2 is obviously bringing in new bugs.   

Okk, so the usual, Event Logs show nothing other thanto say the install failed.  I will attach SEP-inst.log.  Sorry to be so contrite, it just never stops with SEP.  I stand by the product and sell it knowing it is better than the rest, but damn, if I could just get the thing installed! :)

(I smile but to be honest, I"m also ready to kill SEP).

SEP not installing on Windows 7 Professional SP1 64bit

Hello,

I use on all the computers in the company version 11.0 of SEP in a managed environment for years without any problem. All

workstations have Windows XP. Now I have a new laptop with Windows 7 prof. SP1 64bit and I cannot install the SEP client. I

searched Symantec communties in all directions but did not find any solution that would work.

sep_inst.log shows classical error:

it seems I have the same manifestation as in https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/sep-12-install-fails-windows-7-pro-64bit but I installed the correct version, 64bit.

I've tried the following workarounds with no success:

1. cleaned all the files and install first live update and after that SEP

2. since only SEP 11 RU7 supports Win7 and this version cannot be found anymore , I tried with latest version from

fileconnect, <<Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.2_MP1_Win64-bit_Client_EN>> also tried with liveupdate first from

<<Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1.2_MP1_SEPM_EN>>

3. disabled UAC

4. checked registry for

HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData

value=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming was already set.

5. run as administrator (even current user has administrator rights)

6. disabled windows firewall and windows defender
7. no PendingFileRenameOperations present in registry
8. combinations of the above.

I've tried more than 30 combinations and no luck! SEP does not want to install. On top of all these, now I have an entry in Start menu <<Symantec Endpoint Protection>> which contains only <<Symantec Endpoint Protection Help>> with link broken.
SEP is still not installed

Windows installation is a clean one, on a new PC.

Same SEP client exist in normal group and LDAP OU ?

I need a solution

We have installed SEP on servers "Server01"~"Server149" and managed these servers by same normal group "AllServer" in SEPM.
In domain, these servers belong to different OU group "APTOU","EUTOU","NATOU"
Now we want to import these LDAP OU group into SEPM. But we still want to manage these servers in normal group "AllServer", apply policy on "AllServer". The server accounts in LDAP OU group are just for reference, or for us to find out if there is unmanaged client.

Our question is:
After we import the LDAP OU groups,can these server accounts "Server01"~"Server149" exist in "AllServer" and LDAP OU group "APTOU","EUTOU","NATOU" at the same time? If yes, will SEPM treat them as same objects.

How to uninstall SEP 12.1 with push deployment

Hi,

 

So my problem is this, I support a local company in my country for SEP. I've installed SEP 12.1 clients in their computers and by mistake i've installed SEP on computers which are not supposed to be installed. So my question is this, can I use push deployment method to uninstall SEP to specific workstations that is not supposed to have SEP???

By the way i've been using "cleanwipe" software to uninstall SEP manually if ever there is a problem with the installation, and then I install SEP again.

 

Hope some can answer.

Machine's ip seem to change randomly

Hi,

 

We have around 300 group. The groups contain machines from diffrent remote branches. one particular client machine in a group seem to change ip address frequently. initially, i thought the machine was wrongly put in a diffrent group but when the machine was moved to correct group, it again changed the ip which belonged to a different group(ip range). The common thing which was found was that all this machine have a common computer name. Is this any bug ? Please help..

Location specific policy not opening rules/ports when switching locations

Hi,

 

SEP  11.0.5005.333 running on Win7 SP1 clients

We also have it running on XP SP3 clients and the SEPM is 2008 R2

Issue is with location specific firewall policies.

Our domain location is based on connectivity to the management servers, once there is no access to either management server, the offline location policy is a copy of the domain based one, with a few additional restrictions to block remote management tools, DNS resolution of the client, network neighbourhood browsing and sharing.

With an XP client, we can move between the locations and policies without issue.

With a Win7 client it can be started up on the network and gets the correct policy. Unplug the network cable and it correctly switches to the more restrictive offline policy. If you then reconnect to the network, it knows it is online as the location changes, but the more restrictive offline policy settings stay in place (if I try to ping by name, it won't resolve, which is correct for the offline policy, but should resolve and reply when on the domain).

If I then reboot the Win7 PC, it stays with the correct online policy, but the restrictions are now opened up as they should be on the domain.

So the Win7 client needs a reboot when going from offline to online policy, otherwise the offline policy restrictions stay in place

Win7 firewall service is running, but all 3 profiles are disabled.

I'm figuring this out as I go, so any pointers or info would be greatly appreciated.

Unable to install Symantec Antivirus

I need a solution

I have faced an issue with Windows 7 os for installation of Symantec 12.1 RU2 client.

When I am installing client in Windows 7, it is installing successfully (checked window app log).

I am not able to open Symantec GUI. Also Symantec GUI is showing as empty in all programs.

I used clean-wipe tool also, no luck.

Please suggest.
