Host Integrity Policy settings
I need a solution
Hi There
I was wondering if anyone can advise on the following.
When a machine receives a Host Integrity check from a HI Policy, and the machine restarts, does the SEP client execute the requirement check as soon as the SEP service starts, or is the requirment to be checked only executed after a certain amount of time?
The reason why I am asking is because I need to find out if the host integrity requirement check executed on the client, can be dealyed ,example to give tge client some time when starting up to update the definitions if out of date, and then the 1st host integrity check gets done, lets say 1 hour later and then 1 hour after that.
The SEP version is 14 RU1
Any input would be much appreciated.

Does SEMP 14.0 enforce password policy
I need a solution
Old version SEMP allows to define password policy, e.g. strengh for internal accounts. But, cannot find Account Management or the option to define password policy for 14.0.
Can someone confirm whether the new version stops provding this feature?

Installation Failed after Windows Patching
I need a solution
Hi All,
In Windows server- 2008, after windows patching we tried to upgrade the SEP client from 12 to 14. At the time of installtion it promted an error "Windows installer not letting you to install". So we tried executing the windows installer from the SEP installtion package, that too dint help. Then we tried installing the same SEP 12, even that installtion also failed. So we asked the windows patching team to revoke the patches.Even after removing the patches, installtion failed.
In every installtion we are getting the same error "Windows installer not letting you to install the SEP"
May i know what will be the root cause for this issue.

Symantec Endpoint Protection Remote Console on Server 2016
I need a solution
Hi,
I got an issue with the 'Symantec Endpoint Protection Remote Console' on a Server 2016 RDS server where we publish all our admin tools.
During the installation I got the error below, but everybody that uses the application gets this error aswell on launch the first time in the session.
Logging out and logging back in again produces the error again and again.
Anybody knows a solution for this?
We are using latest Windows patches and using the java version provided with SEPM.

Symantec Enpoint Protection Manager
I need a solution
Hello everyone,
I want to provide our Server with Symantec Endpoint Protection via the SEP Manager Software.
The Remote-Push Function is working just fine for me.
Here my Problem/Question:
After the SEP Installation i can either restart the Servers right now or they will be restart after excatly 1 day.
Is there any way to get rid of the automatic restart after 1 day?

Can an integrity check be made completely invisible to the user?
I need a solution
I setup a host integrity check with notifications turned off, but machines that failed the check still have a SEP icon indicator and a warning message "Your computer failed its security compliance check. Please see the Client Managemnet Security log for more information."
Can an integrity policy be configured to provide no end-user visibility at all?

migration to 14.2 from 14.0.2415
I need a solution
I currently have SEPM 14.0.2415, i've created another server and am looking to install SEPM and follow the https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH247... guide to upgrade, im hoping i can go straight to the new version but think ill need to replicate the same version then upgrade it.
does the version on the new server have the match using the DR method, or can i go straight to a newer version?

How to manage internet-client
I need a solution
Hi all,
i would like to manage my endpoints when they are over internet.
I've already set up a live update's policy for outside network that allow the clients to download the definitions from symantec's server.
Is there a way to allow clients to download new policies (for example blacklisted files) from the SEPM when they aren't into LAN? Such a "gateway" or similar.
I prefer, if it's possible, not to publish my SEPM server on internet.

Hardware Change Detected
I need a solution
Since upgrading to 14.2.770 last week, I have been getting "A hardware change to the client computer has been detected " alerts from random computers when shutting down/turning on. Nothing has changed withany of our computers to cause this alert. Is there any way to find out what Symantec thinks has changed?

how to configure application control using the command line ?
I need a solution
hello, is it possible to setup application control using the command line ? we're using the unmanaged SEP client, version 14. i know i can allow an application access to the network by using the GUI ( open the SEP client, click Options next to the Network and Host Exploit Mitigation, click Application Settings, then Configure). is there a way to do this using a windows command line please ?
we're using IBM's Bigfix product to remotely install a new application on our windows machines. but we don't have a way to configure SEP to allow the new application's traffic without logging into each machine and using the GUI.
