I'm trying to create an exception for an exe, but I can't seem to do so because the add exception list needs an existing file to select. I can't select an existing file though because SEP deletes it on download, and it never makes it to the target folder. How do I make not this?

i'm having a big problem. Our reseller cannot get new licenses for us.
He says that Symantec cannot issue them right now. Our license is already expired and in trial mode (30 days)
After this period it will not scan anymore. For this event i want to enable MS defender on all clients and disable Symantec (if it does that itself i think).
Is there an easy way to accomplish this for Win7/Win10 clients?
Group Policy to "Enable" or do i have to switch some reg keys?

* supprime proxy des options de IE, malgré qu'on a ajouté le proxy plusieur fois manuellement*
* il bloque youtube avec message d'erreur "SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER"
comment je peut ignorer c'est problème à partir de la console de gestion SEPM

Have any one used SEPPrep with SEP 14.2 to remove any third party security software.When I try to push the package you always get the error. I am trying to remove office scan 12.x. It seems that SEPPrep doesn't work with SEP 14 anymore. It used to work fine with SEP 12.

Hello everyone. I am trying to see if we have some KB article from Symantec that lists down the default policies available for Application and Device Control and Firewall Policies for SEP 14.
I have come across the below KB article from Symantec on Virus and Spyware policy and we can export it as CSV at the end.
So I am looking for something simlar. Doesn't anyone have a similar thing like this?

I have a SEP client installed on SLES 12 SP3. SLES 12 is newly installed.
Everything seems perfect until the scan starts.
The scan detects that:
/usr/lib64/libGL.so.1.2.0
/usr/lib64/libpulse.so.0.17.3
/usr/lib64/libgck-1.so.0.0.0
/usr/lib64/libgweather-3.so.6.5.1
/usr/lib64/libcaribou.so.0.0.0
as Trojan.Gen.NPE.2 and deletes them, which is incorrect.
I can bypass it by specifying exclusion, but has anyone encounter the same issue?

I'm wondering is the SQL DB is able to relocate to other drive for example from C:/ drive to D:/ drive?
I have a scenarioas below:-
We had deployed SEPM with remote SQL Server and currently the the DB was placed a C:/ drive.
Due to SQL server team request to move DB to D:/ drive, is that possible we able to relocate the DB location?

Upgrade 12 to 14 - Rollback
I'm planning on upgrading from SEP12 to 14 and would like to know if it crashed what would be the rollback plan?
Or do not have a rollback plan? Should failure attempt to uninstall? Or install SEP 12 and perform restore?
Before upgrading, do I recommend clearing / deleting some folders for better performance in the upgrade?
Run "truncate transaction log"? And run "rebuild indexes"?

I have a new doubt about the content update in SEP. If I am using LUA internal servers and SEPM as the sources of my content updates, and I have configured the SEPMs with the option "Prevent clients from downloading full definition packages". What would happen if a client need to download a full package? Will it download it from the internal LUA? Will the LUA provided the necessary delta?
What would happen in the same situation if I have SEPM and Symantec LU servers? Will it download the full content from the Symantec LU server, or it will get the corresponding delta from this very source?

Hi all,
Few days ago i made an upgrade of SEPM server from version 14 RU1 MP2 to 14.2. Server upgrade was smooth and without problems. Most of the clients were successfully upgraded too. I found in SEPM console that few of my clients are needing restart. After reboot i found that newest version of SEP is installed on them, but the program is actually not working. There was no SEP icon in the tray and when i tried to start program from program files, i was getting error (SEP service was started but disabled). I tried to unninstall the client on one of my clients and reinstall it again, but i've got error "Error 2343 Specified path is empty". On internet i found that with CleanWipe 14.2 tool problem will be overcome, but again installation was unsuccessful. There was no error anymore, but the installation was rolling back after few minutes.
Please advice me what i should do in order to upgrade the rest of my clients.

I have some suspicious hash values and I want to check them on Symantec portal to know if they are really malicious or not. I tried Virustotal but no luck at all. Submitting sample on Symantec portal will not help as I have many hash values. Now can someone please share direct link on Symantec portal where we can check reputation of hash values.
Scheduled report sent via email in html form. When i try to print to PDF, it always show total 1 sheet of paper.
Can anyone advise how to print the entire html report in PDF format?

How does SEP client or server behave when two identical SEP GUID tries to register to the SEP Manager?
If GUID is the issue, what can I resolve to do it? I was thinking of a logon script which would delete this registry key:
HKLM\Software\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC\Sylink\Sylink\HostGUID
I recently upgraded from 14.0.1 to 14.2. Everything worked fine, except I don't get the green dot in the SEP client installed on the same server as the SEPM manager. Running the troubleshooter in the SEP client comes back with "Communication Failure".
I had previously installed a CA certificate and it worked before the upgrade. If I do the secar test using the FQDN, it comes back OK. So I looked in the apache access log, and it seems all the clients use the FDQN of the server except the local one, which is failing. All other client's entrys come back with IPAddrAccessingIT "GET /secars/secars.dll?h=96... HTTP/1.1" 200 2462 and the local one comes back with 127.0.0.1 "GET /secars/secars.dll?action=36 HTTP/1.1" 200 723 "Java/1.8.0_151" .
If I do the secars test using the IP address instead of the FQDN, my browser says Net::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID. Is there any way I can switch the SEP client to use the FQDN instead of localhost?
