Can't Uninstall Symantec for Windows 10 Upgrade (version 1803)
I do not need a solution (just sharing information)
I just wanted to share what I think will be helpful information related to the commonly experienced error preventing Windows 10's latest upgrade (version 1803) related to uninstalling Symantec. In my case, I had never installed it in the first place. Another user gave some great information in this post:

However, it can be difficult to find the exact path of the offending files. I discovered a registery key that gives the answer.
Try looking in your registry under:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\UpgradeCompatibilityTemp
Any key under that path will have a string value called "ExeFullPath" which should point you to the files that need to be removed. At least, it worked for me.

Symantec license over deployed
I need a solution
Hi All,
Currently we have over deployed our license count by around 300 seats. The deletion of offlines we had to increase to 150 days as there were few issues with the manager and we wanted to keep a track off even the offline machines. And currently have no approvals to remove offline machines.
My questions is what are potential impacts of the seats being over deployed. Will this effect the endpoint clients from communcating or updating or any other effects it may cause. any information on this would help as i am concerned and not sure about what the effects are of this.

The user interface (or Console) of Endpoint Protection 14 looks some what streched when compared with SEP 12.
I have been posting this issue from the moment SEP 14 first build was released, the space between the border and the console could be trimmed.

Endpoint Protection and Windows 10 upgrades (1803 or 1709)
I need a solution
We are concerned about our Windows 10 upgrade path. We have SEP 14 installed on most systems in our enterprise. We will be rolling out Win 10 to systems soon and have had issues in test upgrading to 1709 or 1803 (from another Win 10) when SEP is installed.
We don't want to have to remove SEP before upgrading Windows, especially with Microsoft's bi-annual deployment model for Win 10.
We need a SEP client that can survive the upgrade.

SEP Linux 14 RU1 MP2 + RHEL 7.5 = kernel panic

We've observed that updating RHEL to the latest 7.5 (from 7.4 or 7.3) version having SEP 14 RU1 MP2 installed cause kernel panic and server become unavailable. So to all of You thinking of upgrading RHEL to the latest version having SEP 14 RU1 MP2 onboard already make sure You have snapshots/backups etc especially if You are using cloud solutions :) If You are hosting VMs on Vmware or somewhere else with console access then login to previous kernel version and uninstalling SEP will help face this issue ;) Btw if You are using SEP 14 RU1 then everything works fine :))

SYmantec Clients no longer password protected
I need a solution
Hi
I have recently upgraded my SEPM and clients to 14.x. This has for some reason turned off the password protection on all my clients. Anybody can now click into the client and make changes which is really odd?
I have checked the policy and it seems that the password settings are still intact and all the relevant tick boxes are ticked so not sure why this has suddenly stopped working. Is this a new feature of 14.x or as the option to enforce passwords on clients changed?
Any help on this would be greatly appriciated Appreciated

1. Do we need to install SEP Agents on each VM or can it be done at hypervisor level.
2. VDI machines are duplicating with same IP address, but different hardware ID? Is this a product issue or are we deploying the agents incorrectly.

Need to change SEP scan log path on UBUNTU servers

Hi Team,
We have SEPM 14 RU1 MP1 in place and we have installed the SEP client on various ubuntu OS .
But as we have identified on ubuntu servers, Symantec antivirus scanning logs are redirecting to server's log file (/var/log/syslog), which is generating a huge amount of logs during server scanning.
We want it to be redirected to separate directory like (/var/log/Symantec/). kindly help on this.

Microsoft just sent a virus alert for "Trojan: Win 32: / BootCorrupt" or "Trojan: Win32 / KillDisk". Those names are for Windows Defender, and looking for information from Symantec I didn't find anything, anyone knows if SEP has signatures for this detections?

I'm trying to figure how to get information about how long scan took place but from OS level not from SEPM Console/SQL Database. There is AVMan.log file but I hard to get anything out of there except it started, completed and how many files were scanned/omitted.

URGENT: Endpoint Protection Manager won’t deinstall, preventing Windows 10 upgrade
I need a solution
Have Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager 12.1.7061.6600
Was sent to different CleanWipe programs but the programs complained Endpoint version number was too high. Failed to deinstall. So cannot upgrade Windows.
