I was wondering if anyone can help me with this query, the server Symantec endpoint protection is installed had to be changed as the server was very old. This means that the clients are not connecting to the new software as they are still looking to the old server. is there a way to fix it so they look at the new server now? we have over 170 computers but about 30 come up in the client list as I manually reinstalled these.

I logged inot my desktop to find that WIN 7 had restarted due to an automatic update and I was getting an error message that said "Failure to load sylink.dll or one of it's dependent dlls. Exiting Symantec Endpoint Protection". An attempt to start the SEP application gives me a message that says "SEP cannot open because some Symantec services are stopped. Restart the Symantec services, and then open SEP"
When I look at my services list, SepMasterService is running, however smcservice (Symantec Management Client Service) and SNAC (Symantec Network Access Control) are not. Attempts to start SmcService and SNAC give me the "Failure to load Sylink.dll" message above. I have uninstalled and reinstalled SEP and gotten the same result. Not sure where to go next. Has anyone else seen this?

My company works with Win XP on client machines, we are in the proces of a migration to Win 7, Win 8 or maybe VDI.
I know Win XP support ends april 2014, maybe we will be fully migrated, more likely we will be not. On the client machines we are running SEP, i would like to know will our client machine be "secure" even after april 2014 when Microsoft stops updating / supporting win XP, so no security patches will be installed..?

It appears to me that the navx process and command are not availble under 12.1.4 MacOS X clients. Is this correct? If so, what process is active when a scheduled scan is occuring. My test system is a Mac 10.9 system.
I'm trying to determine if a bug in an earlier version of SEP is still present (supposedly fixed in 12.1.4), but my way of determining the issue is to monitor when navx is running.

Running ESXi 5.0 I have 7 guests that were all converted from their physical forms. They are all running client SEP. We are not using vMotion. I know there is a virtual appliance available. I can't find the install media for the virtual requirements. Is there a big performance boost here? Do i free up any licenses? I've been reading about how to go about installing, but nothing about the "theory of operation" as it were. Thanks.
Hello, I migrated our old SEP server to a new machine (SEPSV1) with a new name (SEPSV2). Everything's working fine/All clients are communicating fine. Only thing I noticed is that when I access the SEPM Web Access (https://SEPSV2:8443), I get a certificate error in the browser because SEPSV2 trying to install the old server's certificate.
How can I resolve this? Thanks!

Why we are using LUA for SEPM update when SEPM can get updated from internet also.
I am using LUA 2.3.1 {due to security policies} to pull in updates from Symantec which then distributes the updates to 3 SEPMs. Clients then receive updates via the SEPMs or the LUA. in past few days, I noticed that the following logs file grows to Gigs in size. that it ate up the remaining 25gigs of space on the drive over the weekend.
C:\Program Files\Symantec\LiveUpdate Administrator\tomcat\logs\local_access_log.2013-xx-xx.txt
Contents of log file include items such as:
[IP Address] -- [Date/Time] "GET /clu-prod/1376697804jtun_sepc130814011-130816011.x86
Is there a way to control this type of logging?
Please tell me that can I delete older entries of these file types in the ...\tomcat\logs folder?

i want to configure auto upgrade by groups , but in the same gruop i have clients with 32bit OS and 64 bit OS
i notice that i can configure 2 or more packeges per group , how it will choose which client to install to the clients in the group ?

today i face one strange problem, most of my words files delete it, when i sort the file inside that folder it showing last moddfied today
if i open that folder it showing empty.
i check the sep it is working and i scan my computer showing zero infect file

Our company still have many Windows XP PC, and we concern that Microsoft Launched Windows XP will end of life on 8/Apr/2014.
However, will Symante Endpoint Protection 12.x have launched when will be end of support Windows XP ?

Da wir unter anderem neue Server mit Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 einsetzen, mussten wir Symantec Endpoint Protection von Version 12.1.1000.157 auf Version 12.1.4013.4013 aktualisieren. Leider haben wir nun das Problem, dass die Ausnahmen nicht mehr alle funktionieren.
Z.B. gibt es bei uns diese Ausnahme D:\LOGA\, leider wird der Ordner trotzdem überwacht und die Applikation darin funktioniert nur noch, wenn man den SEP auf dem Client (Server 2008 R2) deaktiviert.
Dies ist leider nicht die einzige Ausnahme, welche nicht mehr funktioniert. Mit SEP 12.1.1000.157 funktionierte es noch.
Für konstruktive Vorschläge wäre ich sehr dankbar!
