SEP 14.0 MP2 unmanaged client, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
We have an issue with one of our clients that started this morning when the user booted up. We observe high CPU utililzation in one of the instances of ccsvchost.exe - it appears to be looping. We are unable to open the client UI. We get a message that "Symantec Endpoint Protection cannot open because some Symantec services are stopped. Restart the Symantec services, and then open Symantec Endpoint Protection".
This particular client has had no changes other than regular LiveUpdate content updates. Is anyone aware if some bad defs or content was pushed out yesterday, October 3, 2018?
We have not stopped any Symantec services. We assume that we are getting the message because ccsvchost is looping and SEP has not fully initialized.
We can't run any SEP diagnostics because we can't open the client UI.
Your help/comments are appreciated.
