While this topic was just brought up in another post last week, it seems to have been overlooked, and I falsely assumed I had resolved the issue on my own LUA by updating the product catalog. Hopefully Mick, or someone else in the know about LUA can offer some insight.
Here are the tests I ran:
I completely rebuilt my LUA from the ground up and added the following two products:
I then downloaded and distributed the content, and then Downloaded the LiveUpdate Content on my SEP 14 MP2 SEPM. After it was complete, I noticed that my SEPM still showed that the latest Windows Definitions from Symantec were dated 7/20/17, but my console (even after waiting for it to refresh), still showed Windows definitions dated 7/19/17.
I then switched my SEPM LiveUpdate Source Server from my Internal LUA, to the default Symantec LiveUpdate Server. Low and behold, the following additional definitions were downloaded.
Successfully downloaded the Virus and Spyware definitions SDS Win32 14.0 (reduced) security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
Successfully downloaded the Extended File Attributes and Signatures 14.0 security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
Successfully downloaded the Virus and Spyware definitions SDS Win32 14.0 security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
Successfully downloaded the Revocation Data 14.0 security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
Successfully downloaded the Virus and Spyware definitions SDS Win64 14.0 security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
Successfully downloaded the Virus and Spyware definitions SDS Win64 14.0 (reduced) security definitions from LiveUpdate. The security definitions are now available for deployment.
So to reiterate, it appears that the v2.3.6.47 LiveUpdate Administrator, with an Up-to-date Symantec Product Catalog, is not getting all the content it needs to properly update the SEP 14 MP2 SEPM, or the SEP 14 MP2 clients.
Mick2009, or any other Symantec folks in-the-know, care to offer any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks for your time,
-Mike
