Querying SEP V14 Embedded DB?

I'm trying to use a Sybase connector to query the SEP v14 embedded DB. I'm able to start dbsrv16 and query it, but when I start the SEP service, I'm not able to make a connection. I've tried port 5000, 8443, 8765 (from the Tomcat config)

Is there a way to query the SEP DB while its running? I'm trying to install a Arcsight connector..
