Restore backup of 12.1.6MP5 on SEPM 14

Hi,

I have a SEPM version 12.1.6MP5 with 250 client. The OS is Windows 2003 32Bit. I have read that upgrade cannot be done on Windows 2003 32Bit. If I install SEPM 14 on a new server, will I be able to restore backup from 12.1.6MP5? Problem is the 250 clients are located at different location. Please help so that I can upgrade smoothly.
