For the last several months we have had some servers that are clients of SEPMs that will have their defs get stuck on an old date. Nothing we do, outside of rebooting the client seems to resolve the issue. These are servers that are clients and occur on multiple SEPM environments. The clients have all beeen 12.16x or higher. In some instances the server has been running the SEPM and it is its own clients(we provide support for multiple companies) . In other instances it is just one client among many servers who we are managing the client on, from our primary SEPM.
If you stop the SEP service on the client with start smc -stop, then try to restart the service, the service will hang at starting and never restart. Trying to push updates from the SEPM doesnt work. Intelligent Updater exes fail. Live update says there are no new defs available.
