Symantec and Databases

I know Symantec does not scan files going in and out of Sharepoint (thats why the Symantec for Sharepoint is required), but what about SQL and Oracle databases?

Are special products required for other databases, or is the base Symantec install on the SQL and Oracle client sufficent to protect those servers?
