Symantec Endpoint Manager login problem

Windows server 2012 r2 and Symantec Endpoint 12.1. The server has remote access and VPN role installed. I cannot access the symantec manager using localhost. I can only access using the ip address of the server. It will not connect using the servername. Anyone had this problem. The clients cannot connect to the server either.
