I need a solution

Hello All,

I am seeking some advice.

I need to set up a testing environment to simulate creating domains in SEPM 12.1.6 and installing REDHAT linux clients and importing them into a domain.

Also we want to move from out 2008 environment to 2012. This will be done by setting up a new server with the 2012 OS and moving the clients to the new environment.

Ok so that's the background and now here's my question: So for the test environment I want to set up, I want to make a copy of the SQL database used for the production environment and use this database with a new install of SEPM 12.1.5 on a server with Windows 2012 OS.

Please note that the new server and the old server does not have the same hostname and IP address. So basically I need to know if I can import the copy of the database into the new install without any problems and what are the steps?

I hope someone can help.
