sysfer.dll crash

I'm having problems with a small application created in-house. It's a java app that's used to spawn processes. It runs in windows 7 64. 

Sometimes it crashes, with the error "Java platform se binary has stopped working". When I check the logs in EventViewer, I see

And that's why I suspect sysfer.dll... Is there anything I can do? If I disable symantec endpoint protection, will that prevent sysfer.dll from being loaded? I can't reproduce the fault easily, sometimes it appears after running 30 minutes, sometimes after 1000h...
