SEP 12.1 RU4 impacting Windows 8 on-screen touch keyboard

I need a solution

Our company is running quite a number of Windows 8.1 Enterprise X64 machines with an US English keyboard layout.   Since installing Symantec EndPoint Protection 12.1 RU4 we notice that an element of the on-screen touch keyboard is no longer responding - in particular the input-selection key at the bottom-right of the onscreen keyboard which normally allows you to switch between different keyboard layouts and the handwriting panel.

With SEP installed, this key is no longer responding to screen presses. (Refer attached screenshot labelled 'on-screen keyboard')

We have a Premier ticket open with Microsoft who are investigating the issue. We suspect that some of the proactive threat protection features of SEP may be blocking functionality of the onscreen keyboard or it's associated TabTip processes as a false positive (possibly thinking that the onscreen keyboard is a keylogger application)

Anybody else seen this ?
