Need automated method of rolling back client version

Anyone know of an automated method to roll back the client version?   I'm deploying SEP v12.1.3 and I've run into an third-party application issue.  I'm deploying SEP v12.1.3 via SEPM, by assigning install packages to my SEP groups.  This method has been working fine.

I thought that all I would have to do is create a SEP Group that has a previous version of SEP assigned to it and once I moved the client to this group, it would roll back to that version.  That does not seem to be the case.

With deploying via the SEPM in large quantities, I'm disappointed that there is not a way to revert the client back to a previous version of SEP (on the client).

I know I can manually use CLEANWIPE, but that's a tedious step.

Anyone successful with uninstalling via a script and GPO?  My experience, with our network, that GPO is unreliable.
