I am running SEP 12 RU1 MP1 on a Windows 7 host. The client is connected to a production SEPM (same version). I built a test SEPM and would like to migrate the client so it communicates with that test SEPM instead. I exported the communication file from the desired group on the test SEPM which produced a sylink.xml file. I then ran sylinkdrop.exe version 1.2 as administrator on the client, selected the exported sylink file and selected Update Sylink. After a few seconds, the "green dot" disappears from my SEP icon in the systray and then it reappears after sylinkdrop tells me that the file was successfully replaced. However, I am, according to troubleshooting, still connected to the original production sepm. I tried disabling tamper protection and smc -stop. Still same results. Does anyone have any other suggestions for getting this to work? Is there an alternate supported way to migrate a client to a different SEPM?
