Does more SEP group cause performance impact

HI I m looking some help on group structure ,

I am in process of creating a group structure for Symantec wherein i m creating a group for each country , some 20 in Number , and each country will be having 5 sub groups for application and device control exception . So in all about 100 groups ,

My question is there any performance impact for number of groups , is there any figure to which we should keep the number of groups to

I  just want real time experience on if there is any impact if the groups are more. If yes whats the figure . Is 100 groups already more ... we have around 300 clients ..
