HOWTO - Reset Hardware ID on SEP 12

I remember there was a way to reset hardware ID on SEP 11. It was some file on some folder (I did this ages ago ???), but one of our Engineers who remembers says the files that were located in SEP 11 can no longer be found in SEP 12.

Can you post documentation on how to reset hardware ID on SEP 12.
